pred leti je imela moda svoj čar zaradi nedosegljivosti in presenečenj, ki jih je ponujala vsako novo sezono. nove kolekcije  in z njimi povezane skrivnosti so bile skrite pred vsemi radovedneži do dneva, ko so bile prvič razgaljene v javnosti. ta jih je srejela z občudovanjem ali pa se je nad njimi zgražala in jih pohodila. danes so novosti prej na policah kot na modnih revijah, presenečenj skoraj ni več. moda je razvrednotena, merila postajajo nejasna, oblačila v trgovinah so pocenjena, še preden se začne nova sezona. trg ponuja nova pravila, kdor pa jim ne sledi, ga izloči.

years ago, fashion had charm due to the unavailability and surprises offered by each new season. new collections and related mysteries were hidden from all those who were curious until the day they were first unveiled in public. the public admired the collection or saw it and walked all over it. today the novelties appear on the shelves before they are shown at the fashion shows; there are almost no more surprises. fashion is devalued and its value criteria are becoming blurred, for example the shops begin with sales even before the new season starts. the market offers new rules, but whoever does not follow them is eliminated.

Ob napisanim se mi postavlja vprašanje, kako naj nek oblikovalec ali nasplošno modna industrija vnese nazaj to pričakovanje, kako naj modni navdušenci zopet postanejo entuziastični? Dejstvo je, da se vse kopira- svet nam ne pokaže nič novega in prav tako mi njemu ne. Kako prekiniti začaran krog?
